- Day 2: Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm & Angkor Wat
-
08:00: Pick up from your hotel. After meeting our tour guide, then we drive to Angkor Thom that was the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. Following the occupation of Angkor by the Chams from 1177 to 1181, the new king decided to build an impregnable fortress at the heart of his empire.
We begin to visit Bayon Temple. At the exact center of Angkor Thom, this is an eccentric expression of the creative genius and inflated ego of Cambodia’s most celebrated king. Its 54 towers are each topped off with the four faces of Avalokiteshvara (Buddha of Compassion), which bear more than a passing resemblance to the king himself.
We continue to visit Terrace of the Leper King. Along the Terrace of Elephants, originally used as a viewing gallery for the king to preside over parades, performances and traditional sports. At the southern end lies the Baphuon, once of the most beautiful temples at Angkor, dating from the reign of Uditayavarman 1 in the 11th century.
We continue to visit Ta Prohm "Tomb Raider" fame. Ta Prohm has been abandoned to the elements, a
reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history.
We journey out to the Mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Believed to be the world's largest religious building, this temple is the perfect fusion of symbolism and symmetry and a source of pride and strength to all Khmers.
Dinner with Apsara Dance show at local restaurant.
For those travelers thirsting for cultural highlights of Cambodia, No visit to Cambodia is complete without attending at least one traditional Khmer dance performance, often referred to as 'Apsara Dance' after one of the most popular Classical dance pieces. Traditional Khmer dance better described as 'dance-drama' in that the dances are not merely dance but also meant to convey a story or message.

- Day 3: Siem Reap – Departure
-
08:00: Pick up from your hotel. We depart for the Tonlé Sap. We will enjoy a boat ride on the Tonle Sap Lake. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen's "floating village" with floating schools, floating police station, etc. It is same as a big village floating on the lake, and the "village" move from place to place following water levels and current. Return to city and stop visit to "Les Artisans D`Angkor – Chantiers Ecoles", this center works with young artisans; the team creates, produce and market a unique collection of ornamental sculpture, lacquer, silk weaving and silk painting. The company promotes fair and sustainable development in order to provide benefits to rural communities.
Transfer to Siem Reap airport for departure to next destination. End of tour. Thank you so much!Meals: B

We were picked up at our hotel ready for a 4 hour drive to meet our crew and boat. On arrival our guide and waiter Dave met us and provided an orientation of the boat. Our cabin had a king size bed (2 king singles pushed together) allowing for twin bedding if required. A large bathroom with toilet and shower was attached to the room. The shower was dirty and mould visible on the shower curtain. Meals were amazing! 4 course lunches and dinners and all very fresh food from local markets. Breakfasts included choice of eggs and fruit. Beverages could be bought onboard but wine was very expensive ranging from 550000 dong up. Dave our guide, lead us everywhere and was very informative about his home land. He provided a wealth of knowledge and was very helpful throughout the tour. For the price range, the level of service was outstanding and can recommend to anyone who is visiting Saigon and the Mekong Delta.

Cute little room with ample space for our one night cruise. The food was good but not excellent. Fabulous sunset. Very interesting walk to local smallholding, market, noodle factory and floating market.

The organization is perfect for us to discover on this beautiful sampam the Mekong and its peripheral activities including those of local residents and also the brick factories and delicious confectionery. The house of the lover of Marguerite Duras as well as the various markets including the famous float of Cai rank have completed our curiosity. The crew and our dynamic guide knew how to do everything to satisfy us with both efficiency, discretion and exemplary kindness. .

Our one-night cruise in a private sampan was wonderfully memorable. Boat is beautiful, designed with rattan throughout and outfitted with two beds and two commodious bathrooms with showers, allowing, but not requiring, sharing with friends. Staff was extremely friendly but not at all intrusive. English-speaking guide was very courteous and helpful. Boat is equipped with comfortable chairs at front of boat from which you take in sites and sounds on river. Your experience with river life is intimate, novel and enriching. My wife and I felt like river royalty. Highly recommended!!

The sampan is the ideal way to stroll the waters of the Mekong. The interior space is very well designed with its two bedrooms, a bathroom, the dining area and the lounge at the front of the boat turned into a third bedroom for the night. The crew, very kind, knows how to be discreet despite the limited space. Our French-speaking guide introduced us to a coconut candy factory and a brick factory. The morning was occupied by the visit of the floating market of Cai Rang. A mini cruise to do absolutely.
