Overview
Con Dao Museum is a historical relic area of Con Dao full-day excursion, a space for displaying artifacts and images of the process of the national liberation struggle and the historical period of Con Dao people.
Con Dao Museum is located opposite the Cau Tau 914 Historic Site, near the French Tiger Cage relic. It is built in the 2-hectare campus with the construction area of 3,570 m2 and the exhibition area of 1,700m2, combined both internal and external displays.
The museum was formerly the workplace of 53 island's lords which is famous for its cruelty. The museum was put into operation on September 6th, 2013 and has since become a popular tourist attraction in Con Dao.
Coming to the Museum, visitors will have the chance to understand more about the history of Con Dao development, visit images and exhibits about the cruel crimes of the French colonial regime and the American Empire henchmen.

Visitors also have chances to contemplate pictures and portraits of political prisoners and soldiers in Con Dao, images of resilient and indomitable fights of revolutionary soldiers and political cadres detained in an extremely brutal regime that no words can describe. You also witness materials describing the sentence to death of many communist soldiers including the heroic martyrs – Vo Thi Sau.

Each of the topics on display brings viewers different emotions. The images are reproduced honestly and vividly that anyone can resist the brutality of Con Dao prison for a time.
Besides, the museum also introduces archeological artifacts collections in Con Dao such as excavated pits of Hon Cau ancient village, the grave of Mieu Ba Con Dao grave, Hai Den grave burial area, or the area of the geographical position of Con Dao archipelago. It is an ideal spot for you to escape to Paradise Island of Con Dao 4 days.
